Human-machine Interface Graphic Overlays

Human-machine Interface Graphic Overlays:

We realize that Graphic Overlays are more than just a component to you¡ªthey are an important reflection of your company and your equipment. Often your name goes on the overlay we produce, and the overlay is the first thing your end user sees and touches. You¡¯ll appreciate the quality and aesthetics of our graphic overlays and the good impression they make on your customers.

A thin polyester or polycarbonate substrate that acts as the top layer of a membrane switch. Graphics are screen or digitally printed onto the second (back) surface, then adhesive is applied to the back for easy application. Printing on the second surface allows the substrate to protect the printing from damage. This process distinguishes an overlay from a label.

Applications:Decorative overlays, membrane switches or other marking requirements.

polyester(Mylar), polycarbonate(PC) ,Polyurethane (TPU or Aluminum and  - Environmental friendly

• More expensive than polycarbonate but more durable

• Recommended for membrane switches, especially when embossing is involved

• Greater tensile strength than polycarbonate, so flexing of the keys does not cause wear

• More chemical resistant

• Maximum thickness 0.008" or tends to be cloudy

• Available in matte, textured, clear (gloss) and UV-resistant finishes

• Brushed, mirror or chrome effect

Polycarbonate (Lexan)

Less expensive than polyester

• Available in more thicknesses (up to .060")

• Available in matte, textured, clear (gloss), anti-glare, UV-resistant, and hardcoated finishes

• Brushed, mirror or chrome effect

Printing: Conventional screen printing or state-of-the-art digital printing

Available Finishes: Matte, textured, gloss (clear), selectively textured,anti-glare.

Selective Texturing:

Provides the appearance of different finishes by printing on the first surface. This can be accomplished by:

1.Printing a texture ink on a clear or antiglare surface in a defined area while relieving other areas such as LED windows, keys or lens areas, which remain clear

2.Printing a gloss ink on defined areas of a textured surface to clear a window, key or lens area.

  • Clear, colored and smoked windows and deadfronts
    Embossing ¨C Rim, Pillow, Bi-Level,Polyesterdome

  • U.V. hardcoat on window or background

  • Adhesive type: as inquiry

PMS (Pantone Matching System) is the most common color system. Other color systems include Sherwin Williams (usually for metal), Federal Standard, and Munsell. We will also match colors to a customer-provided sample or swatch.
